I was on Trail Ridge Rd in RMNP walking along the receding snow.
At one point it was being stalked by a mad marmot.

Trail Ridge Rd. is a great place to take photos. I've also seen marmot up there.

Some reason this shot not as sharp as the Zenfolio hosting site. Usually they look pretty much the same.

I knew you were from Virginia and I was surprised that you had Ptarmigans. But then I looked up RMNP --- its just west of Denver. I need to get out more. Its interesting to see Ptarmigan in the deep south (Denver

White tail ptarmigan is the normal species of the Rockies (smallest of 3 species)
