Very moving story...and images. Very compelling and intense captures showing that it's a tough and brutal world out there.

The more time I spend in 'nature', the more I appreciate how many links are in the chain there are and reflect on what those links can or might mean in human terms. It's very humbling. It sure makes me appreciate what I have...and how quickly it can be lost.

Powerful set; thanks for being here and posting.

Thank you Kim....I agree that the natural world can and should teach us many lessons. We do hold the key and unfortunately the keepers of the key oft times are quite irresponsible. People talk of butterfly wings....probably quite a bit truer than we think.

Thanks Jeff...here's hoping for more adventures and even more bad ass shots!

Amen to your story, thanks for sharing that. And once again a spectacular series.

Thanks Louie, I suspect many others can share similar stories that highlight just how tenuous life can be.

These are just wonderful. They're all great, but that 2nd Martial eagle shot, and 7 with the lion standing over the buffalo is just magnificent.

Great set and story. I don't come from a military family but I appreciate the military men and women in both my country of birth, India, as well as my adopted country now!

Thanks Scott...I had seen martial eagles in the past but never have I been so close and with one that allowed me to take so many photos...the fact it had a kill and was waiting to collect it made all the difference....they are huge and powerful birds and the wing beats create amazing sound as they push the air.

Thanks so much....glad you liked both story and images....it is unfortunate that since WWII those who have served in the military have had to suffer indignities back home as they did when deployed.

Those are great martial eagle images indeed. And how can you go wrong with a dog shot. Lots of "close calls" illustrated here. Good story.

First shot is great, the branches really work well to frame him. Very jealous of the big cat captures, very nice.

Thanks Don, very fortunate to have the eagle on a kill and the puppies are just so darn cute, except for the ones tearing up the kudu....yikes!

Great story of your dad. Many times a small setback or nuisance (sore throat here without antibiotics) is actually a blessing. We just cannot see the future.

All shots are wonderful. I very much liked the intense look of the eagle in #2. Can we imagine the biting power of a lion to drag a five-six hundred pound animal?

Thanks Mansur, we never know what curves life will throw us, if we are lucky they go in our favor if not, cie la guerre.
