My local forest owl finally spent a day in an old roost hole. The tree is quickly rotting and this is likely his last visit.

I am uber jealous Don....even with squinty eyes this is super....Pretty good at 1000mm and flash with "old" technology
Whatya think about maybe darkening the inside of the roost hole just a wee bit?

Thanks Morris. My PP skills are so lousy I never correct red eye or retina reflection as you have noticed before. With flash just off centre that doesn't seem to be an issue with this guy. So I do watch for it when I shoot and correct on-site if required.

Thanks Eric. I am using an antique, I know.
I didn't correct the BG but it might help. For me the worst thing is the flash shadow. I hate that. I should have used dual flash.
