Since the hands are frosted out, I would crop above them. Otherwise , a good image.

Agreed, I'd be interested in seeing it cropped square and some of the dead space up top removed too.

I agree with the other Douglas. Still, it's a fine image of a lovely young lady.

Good job. Would like to see some of the dead space above her head cropped out.

That's a nice grab shot. It reminds me of a portfolio review I once had many years ago with a very famous dance photographer (I showed him dance photos made during live performances). He told me to analyze what it is that you like about a grab shot (which are by definition made under circumstances you don't control), and learn how to create opportunities to replicate those things that make the shot compelling. In this case, it's the gaze, the direction of light, the background. So learn from these elements and create more of your own opportunities.

I agree on the crop as well. I wouldn't remove the "dead space" as it is really just negative space for balance--I'd keep it for ground separation. Maybe tilt clockwise a bit too.

The shot is a beauty, and your model has a wonderful look. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful shot - nice lighting.

I agree on the hands comment and as an additional nit, I think the strong vertical line is an issue too. Sometimes a clean background is not available and you have to take what you can get.

Oh wow thanks for all the replies guys!

I did think about cropping the image at the top but I left it alone -I thought the negative space felt right because she was looking up. Though that is just a theory I put together in my head so feel free to educate me on when/why to crop

Could you elaborate on tilting clockwise? -like giving it a dutch-angle?
