A newly licensed Real Estate agent wanted his business portraits to be just that side of different. He asked for B/W, I gave him a couple of colored shots as well, they were well received.

This first one was a winner even though it's not so much of a business portrait - it got thumbs up from his spouse!

Only thing I would do is remove excess space above head. Way too much in #1 and 5. #1 would be even better if touching hairline to bring eyes higher in frame. Just my preference for head shot.
#5...something about tooth reflection / dental work maybe reflecting on left side of mouth.Looks like white line. Like them all.

I like 1 & 5 best, personally.

Nice job on all. My fav is #2, not that that's important.

As a nit, you could place him farther from the background in the dark background shots.

I also agree that for me #2 is significantly the first choice.

Nice work!

I'm seeing a sizeable cutout halo in #2. I like the approach but the hair masking could be more refined. I like Topaz Remask for this sort of thing.

5 is the only one I'd let the client use.

I like #5 the best, but I'd do a little retouch in the right corner of his mouth.

That's funny, because I thought that corner of mouth thing was actually an artifact inadvertently left behind from a previous retouch.

Why I picked number 5 as a favorite was purely for business. In a business portrait, the idea is to present someone you can trust. Feel good about doing business with. The combination of subject expression and lens to subject angle seemed to work best in communicating trustworthiness in number 5 than in the other iterations of headshots presented.
