G'day all,
Would like to share this shot with you today.
While on a family shoot with a client we could hear the laugh of a kookaburra close by.
After finishing the shoot I decided to walk around and see if I could see one.
Saw one by himself high up in the tree, I had the 200mm f2 on a d800E (My main portrait lens), every time I got close to him he flew away. I kept watching him and following and then I saw him land on a tree and another join him. He was a fair distance but I kept walking towards them. As I got closer they flew off again and landed on a tree not far from my parked ute. As I got closer i couldn't believe my eyes, 3 of them sitting on a branch.
As I got closer I was worried about scarring them off as with every step the dry grass and leaves below my feet would crack and make noise. I got Maybe 20 meters from them and snapped a few. Tried to get a little closer but the noise scared them off.
Anyway not the greatest photo but a unique one to me to have three of these creatures together.

Thanks for looking
