I found it interesting how you can have two things, earth and water- but a lot of textures. The sand goes from dry, to moist to saturated and then the water ebbing away has those little almost 'vili' or shag appearance, right as the wave comes crashing in all foamy, with the coherent wave behind it just staring to break and the smaller texture waves to the deeper water.
So glad this was digital, I took hundreds of pics between my 5DII and X100. I had a more complex picture with rocks and driftwood, but it would have to be a large print to get all the textures.
I just really like the 'rough' surface as the wave pulls back. It's there just for a fleeting instant between flowing as a thick sheet and getting pummeled by the wave coming behind it.
No two waves are exactly alike, even at this scale.
