How could you NOT be sure that would be offensive on a hundred different levels. Triple X pornography would be less so.

You are correct, there are still cultures where bull fighting is accepted. On the other hand, many have come to recognize it for what it really is and have since abolished it.
Glad to see you came to a similar decision.

I did not abolish it .Just did not want to continue to upset people. My question is when you see the pic below your mind automatically thinks racist. Not true its a religious per session that has taken place for hundreds of years.

The bull photo is not offensive in any way. There was no commentary, so it just documents what happened. If this was used as part of an anti bullfighting documentary, would you be offended? As is, it is just a photo that documents an event that happened. No offense should be taken.

There is a forum here with photojournalism listed as acceptable (City, Street etc). It would be fine there I think.

I have seen way worse on here...there was a cutting or piercing festival someone posted...Now that was disgusting.

The Wildlife forum has animals with kill...that are worse than that...IMO...anyway.

The OP maybe should have put a....Gore/Warning or Some may find offensive...label....But I see nothing wrong with the photo being posted on FM.

It's a powerful image that obviously affects people. For me it is not easy to look at. Obviously the very bloody bull shows the gruesome side of this "sport".
I think a different title would have helped. I was expecting someone getting a soccer ball to the face or something like that. But you did your part in warning us of the graphic nature.

I agree this may better fit the 'sport' forum than the 'people' forum. We should all take a moment to consider that, for any of our cultures, there are multiple things considered acceptable that are considered rude, disgusting, offensive, immoral, or even illegal in other cultures.

Censoring to avoid offense is itself offensive to some. Despite all the praise and criticism, a photographer should find in his art sufficient peace to sleep at night.

Your original photo is captivating. A cultural event I neither understand or care for, but in your capture you show the strength and power of the bull, usually the loser, against the fragility of the matador, usually the victor.

I thought the photo was excellent. Whether or not it belongs in the people forum is another matter, although I'm not sure what category it fits into neatly.
