p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · The un-natural

I love to play with justifications and this will be the theme of this set of american oystercatcher photos.

-1 The apartment building in the background defines this urban beach sean. Lots of heat distortion produces an interesting look to the image.

-2 The building creates leading lines and is a strong visual contrast to the soft lines of the dunes and don't forget the oystercatcher

-3 The freighter helps frame the oystercatcher as dose the horizon

-4 The women's restroom adds a splash of color to this otherwise natural sean.

It is always good to exercise the creative side of your art. I like the last one best Morris.

Yes, the wild/natural world juxtaposed with the urban man made environment works well here...as the urban sprawl continues these type of images become all the more common.

The contrast between man and nature really works in the last one for me. Looks like he is flying away from the man made to the more natural setting. Although , the man made will soon be the natural setting.

The heat waves certainly do add an interesting element. Nice set Morris

Morris--- you do more interesting things with blurs and atmospherics than anyone on the forum. These are nice. Thanks for sharing.

These have a cool painterly look to them.

Interesting shots Morris. Take the bird out of the last shot and you would have a nice abstract shot that looks like a painting ~ Ron

I agree on both exercising creativity and the last as the pick of the set
Thank you Ken

I don't think we will see any more sprawl on Long Beach Island as it's is pritty saturated. Many people will not drop the shutter or will not keep this type of image.
Thank you Eric

Thank you David,
I agree and there is no special processing to get the look, Possibly it's the compositions

I like the first one. The heat waves kind of make it look like something from Lawrence of Arabia. Or that he's fleeing the heat. Great creativity.

Thank you Mikey,

The great cinematographers have taught us to think hot when we see the heat distortion. It was hardly hot, rather 55f, it's about differences in temperature moving the air.
