So after seeing Don's rim light images I decided to take a look and see what I had and then play a bit. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea but I thought I'd play a little bit...interested in your take on them...a color version of one is included for the purists in the group. Just a couple of rim (lighting) shots. (edit) I decided to remove the b&w versions as they obviously have no merit and so I hope you can just enjoy the rim lit shot,
Eric

Ok, I'll bite...
I like the original shot a lot but the blackened cat reminds of an Jimmy Hendrix Velvet Poster that I hung in my dorm room

But seriously... no need to mess with pic #1 bc it is just that good!

bruce

Number 1 still has rim lighting and it's a super image. That one is my pick. Guess I'm a traditionalist.

Second B&W is my pick, but that colour shot is amazing. You have done a superior job in capturing the wide range of luminosity that was present. Super work here Eric.

I too like the 2nd B&W shot of the two. But "wow", did we really see that lovely cat in #1? And you did a much better job of the B&W on my previous post! Thanks.

#1 is a fantastic backlit, rim-light image Eric... I also love the varying light and shaded areas surrounding the Puma(?)... and the brightly lit tall grasses add interest as well. Excellent work, I love it.

2 and 3... no comment.

Eric, I really like the first one but the other two... I'm just not a big fan of plug-in type effects, just not my Cup of tea.

Thanks everyone...as I said, the last 2 were just on a whim and Tim, they weren't plug in shots other than converting to b&w to remove the color...but I get your point.
