1. lovely girl. Thanks for sharing.

2. you can search and have a look at another thread about ring flash wherein I asked what's the appeal. This shot is a great example of why I have a hard time getting enthused about it. To me - just my opinion and offered respectfully - the ring flash ruins the image.

3. IMHO your depth of field is razor thin - to a fault. Eyelashes in focus and irises/pupils not?... to me that's just getting too much into your gear and what it's capable of.

4. you might consider posting at maximum, 1000 pixels on the long side. This image is huge and difficult to take in without zooming out in the browser.

5. Though I dislike the catch lights, the lighting is very appealing. Nice job.

Regards,

Chuck

I agree with all of these points.

In the past I've commented on ring flash photos that show the ring as a circle catchlight. My main argument against it is that you will never see this circular catchlight in the real world.

Traditionally yes, for purists. But it was done at f1.2 on purpose with focus just on the eyes. I was going for a fairy tail or dream look. 😀
Plus the ring light is only 100$ constant light. It's fun to play with. Haha
