A young dancer I did a shoot with last year asked me if I would do a "contrasty black & white" series for him. He wanted to do it outside in a field, which was far from the best of locations, but I was able to isolate him from the background pretty well with my 135mm at f/2.8.
Overall, I'm more pleased than I thought I'd be when I first saw the location. A couple of these poses don't look like much until you realize how much he was straining to hold them... and then think about how my 51 year old body wouldn't stand a chance. The jumps were fun, and there were a couple other good ones, but I'll stop at five.
C&C on the processing is welcomed. This is the first B&W portrait session I've attempted, although I've tinkered with a few individual shots in the past.
