Bleh - on my outing today, the focus ring suddenly became loose on my ME 60/2.8. If I push in towards the camera when I turn, it "grips" the lens and focuses, but otherwise it just spins.

I found one video on youtube about this, the guy takes apart the lens and then I'm not really clear what he's trying to point out regarding how to fix (there's no sound).

Anyone else had this happen?

Have you got the lens fixed? If you haven't, I highly recommend Don Goldberg (DAG) for your consideration for the repair. My R-60mm f2.8 Macro-Elmarit experienced the similar issue so I sent it to Don late last year (along with few other lenses) and the lens returned better than ever. It has practically glued to my Df as a standard walk-around lens. I just love this lens. Good luck to you.

I watched a video, I assume it was the same one, I couldn't figure out what he did and why he needed calipers to measure it, a service shouldn't be that expensive, well worth it for a good lens like it.

I do not have the receipt on hand but recall it cost me around or less than $150. That, to me, is very reasonable and well worth it considering the repair plus CLA done by Don for lens of this calibre.

At ~1.06-1.08 you can see that he is replacing a ring that he just removed, but some kind of tab in the ring is being aligned into a gap in the barrel that he points to. After 2 more pieces are replaced you can see him demonstrate that the helicoid is now properly engaged (~1.32), so presumably this tab slipped out of the groove and had to be realigned. The bit with the calipers looks like he's setting the focus scale so that it's correct @ infinity.

Following up - I sent the lens to DAG, the turnaround was quick and everything went very smoothly, and the lens works perfectly once again.
