Beautiful colors and the exquisitely carved badlands...
Thanks,
Maji
Thanks Maji, I had a different view I'm mind and really didn't have enough time to scout the area. I usually will do multiple trips, but this one ended up coming together with the beautiful colors and the lines that Manly Beacon provided, which also pointed to the tallest point in Death Valley at Telescope peak.

Hey Kelvin,
Very nice light here, I think you found a good composition with this.
Jim
Thanks Jim!
I was trying to find the right comp, while hiking around in the dark. It just all came together as the clouds began to light up.

Lovely light and beautiful color, a pleasure to see this image.

Thank you Brian, I am truly grateful and lucky. I thought the weekend would be completely cloud free, but woke up to some clouds gathering in the valley.

Definitely a sweet palette of color.
I will remember this pre-sunrise on my next trip
Thanks for posting
Dan
Dan,
I always think sunrise is the best time at Zabriskie Point, since you can have a wide range of lighting and colors if the conditions are right. There is also something soothing about getting out before even the sunrise photographers are out.

Super image. I like your comp.
Thank you Scott, I feel like it's hard to get out of the same images at these iconic spots. It's always more rewarding to find another spot, no matter how much extra work you have to put into it.

That's a nice hike, isn't it?
Great colors and comp!
Best,
Fred
Fred, it definitely is a great hike, and wonderful views. I'm looking maybe to get a few shots down below as well, to get more of a foreground. Thanks for the comments!

The north trail provide some great view-points, especially for winter sunrises... The desert is very accommodating for hiking around, you just need to pay attention to the drop offs
Zeph, the high is definitely not for the acrophobic, and has a large falls on both sides. It's always good to be prepared here, but yes there are some great views from the north trail.

Looks great!
The white in the sky on the left horizon line does try to draw attention that direction to my eye, so I would be tempted to duplicate the horizon line there and do a slight warp / tuck, to tuck the whitish area behind the mountain. Would be essentially the same photo, with less draw that direction... Certainly not necessary though...
Thank you Mark, I'll look into your suggestions. I love when others point out some of the mistakes that we forget, it gives me a more critical eye on edits. The white spot definitely does distract a little, mostly due to the contrast with the darker mountain right below it. I'll see if I can work on that area and see if it improves the photo. Thanks for the critique!
