Two thoughts on this. 1st, everything is too centered, do you have one with the birds off to the right side a bit? 2nd, the sky is empty, it does nothing for the shot, so crop most of it off.

I did have the images you suggested. I took several captures as the geese moved from the right but this is the image I settled on.
I have tried more panoramic crops to reduce the sky but that decreased the communication of just how dominating the mountain is even from a distance. Unfortunately, the closer foreground is filled with very dark, very OOF grasses. That prevents my raising the horizon in the frame to reduce the sky or using a more panoramic crop and still retain the relative size of the mountain in the frame. I'll have to be satisfied with that along with the other weaknesses of this image.
