p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Svartifoss, Iceland

Here's another shot from my trip to Iceland last summer. This is Svartifoss (Black Fall), located in Vatnajökull National Park. It's one of the waterfalls I was most looking forward to photographing on the trip, and it did not disappoint. I wish the skies had been a bit more interesting on this particular evening, but I tried to make the best of it and fill the frame with the waterfall and its surroundings.

This is one of the first photos from the Iceland trip that I started to process, but I never really finished it up. I just did a few more tweaks to it, and now I'd love to get some opinions on it. Thank you!

Looks good to me. The exposure on the rock face around the falls is just right.

Thanks, Dave! Brightening up the rock face around the falls just a bit more was one of the final touches I put on it, so I'm glad you like it.

This is really great Kris. I love the processing, the details are great and the green pops out perfectly without being over saturated. Thanks for sharing. The skies did the same thing to me when I was there. Such a beautiful area.

Thanks, Isaac! We definitely got some gray days there, and this was one of them. The skies got much better in the second half of my trip, but I didn't make it back to this waterfall again.

Great shot... my own shot of Svartifoss is one of my favorites from the trip too. It's just such a cool place. Hopefully there weren't too many selfie-taking tourists in your way!

I really like the foreground composition, that's what makes this shot for me.

The sweet cubist rock in the river makes this one better than all the others I've seen from this location. Special shot!

Thanks! It wasn't too crowded when we were there. In fact, I was probably in more people's way as I walked around in the water in my waders. I waited until there was hardly anyone around before I did that though (although a few more people showed up after). It was around 7-8 PM when we were there. Got to love those late daylight hours!

Thank you! I also thought that rock, combined with the S-curve of the water, would make a nice foreground.
