here is another bald eagle frame from northern Vancouver area. hope you like it, I didn't have much light to work with

shot with 1DX 400 DO II + 2X III. ISO 3200. 1/800sec f/8. Hand held. Processed with DPP 4.3/

The wing doesn't need a faster shutter speed as the eagle is banking, but the near wing is outside of DOF.

come to southern BC (Delta) just north of the Washington border past Bellingham...Deborah and I had 87 Bald Eagles hanging around the local organic recycling area....25 in one tree above us. Anyway, they come too close to photograph - I just clip off the wings. Both images 26 Feb 2016

I prefer a bit of blur in the wings as it makes for a less static image and it conveys motion. The eyes must of course be tack sharp - which they are in this shot.

Thanks man I wish I was still there in Vancouver . Hope to come back to Vancouver again soon
