I really like this shot. Bit of a leading line with the water. My wife and I took a vacation in Oscoda last year. We really enjoyed that part of the state.

I'm thinking that maybe a vertical orientation might work, getting the viewer closer to the water and less of the barren clear cut. I like the ripples in the water and your processing is good.

That is a cool view of what looks like a very flat place. Composition is great and I like how the tree on the left breaks the horizon. The ripples in the water are a great detail. The midday light works fine here because the blue sky goes so well with the yellow trees. I agree that this shot would be much stronger if you could frame the view without showing the bare ground.

Thank you for having a look Heron and for your comment. I thought a bit of the dune would enhance the context, but it looks like I have not done as well as I hoped.
