The majestic and powerful Torc Waterfall, on the river Torc near Killarney, perfectly embodies the presence and strength of water that defines Ireland for me. Ireland, for me, is the land of water: water is either in front of you, behind you, rains over you, runs under the rocks under your feet. A presence that created the landscape and still defines it.

With the Nikon D800E and the 35mm f/1.4G AF-s. Best,

Vieri

As Don remarked the comp is excellent, love the detail, plenty to keep me interested. To bad about the off-color sediment in the flow, there must be logging up stream, though it doesn't detract to much.

Hi Vieri,

What a super cool shot! Love the flow of this waterfall with it cascading every which direction.

Myself, I really like the off color sediment in the flow. It adds a cool touch to the shot, something for the mind to linger over.

Love the texture in the water and the deep green colors. It reminds me of the Pacific North West

I think the colour of the water is due to peat being dissolved in the water. We have similar water in our streams on Dartmoor, in Devon.

This peaty nature is much prized among whiskey distillers.

Thank you very much everyone for taking the time to view and comment, much appreciated

Yes, the colour in the water must be sediments, the soil is very peaty all around; I decided to leave it as it is, since is a peculiar characteristic of the place.

Thanks again! Best,

Vieri
