I saw an American Kestrel for the first time today. What a beautiful bird. She let me get quite close and sat for about one minute while I photographed her. I wish the lighting would have been in front of her instead of behind, but I'm still happy about this image.

The second image is an American Avocet. Another of my favorites. Their coloring and long, graceful bill are beautiful.
