A quick day trip to beach close to Canberra in Australia. Before the surf we usually hang out a bit with feathered friends. These two dropped on by to say hello. Comments and critiques always welcome.

1)

A Lewin's Honeyeater (Meliphaga lewinii) (Canon 1Dx, 100-400 @400mm, ISO 3200, 1/250 f7.1)

2)

A female satin bowerbird (ptilonorhynchus violaceus). (Canon 1Dx, 100-400 @400mm, ISO 3200, 1/320 f7.1)

The Bowerbird looks like an interesting photo subject. Plenty of subtle detail. Two nice images.

KCollett -- beyond being pretty for photos it is lots of fun watching the bowerbird sneak about stealing food from the other birds, too!
