With the Painted Hills area, if your timing is right, all you have to do is get out of your vehicle to come away with an interesting shot. It takes a creative person time to study the scene to come away with something unusual, which I'm not.
I was headed up the main trail and this shot presented itself....

Sweet painted sky at the painted hills! Nice curves in this one and I love the frost.

Heron - Most wouldn't have noticed the frost, so you know how cold it can get in Central Oregon...

A very enjoyable shot with nice composition. I wonder about cropping out a bit of the sky maybe just below the cloud on the left...just a thought.

Eric, I realize the image size is to large for most monitors, including my laptop. I agree a bit could come off either the top or the bottom...
