Killer shots everyone of them Birdie. But that 4th shot is way over the top. The detail in those bee shots is incredible.

Thanks so much Louie.

Your yard looks like a paradise for these little flying critters Birdie.
1 and 4 are so nice with the wings blurred and great detail on the hovering bees.
3 is glorious with some of the wing color matching the beautiful flower, wonderful detail in this one.
5 is a great angle and so cool to see those wings frozen... love it.
2 is an excellent composition, beautiful BG, and once again very nice detail.
Yes... you do make that 300 and accessories do magical things... excellent work and a pleasure to see.

Kirk

Kirk, thank you so much for the time to comment on all the shots. I really appreciate your thoughts .

outstanding!

did you use a flash?

No flash on the bees. Flash was used on the 2 butterflies - SB 910 or 900 diffused with the plastic diffuser and OPtech Softbox on top of that.

Super work Roberta. Now as far as the weather, we had a high of 11f yesterday and now it's snowing.

Morris

You can have your very cold weather Morris. My hands don't fare well in that kind of cold

Great work, Birdie. Makes me think that whether you are familiar with Synchromism or not, you have it in your work. You've made color an integral part of composition - thanks for raising the bar.

David, I had to research Synchromism , thank you for the compliment .

You amaze me! Way to pack in some drama, detail and wonderful color with impressive little critters

#1 your focusing accuracy is impressive
#2 that should make for a nice wall hanger Birdie. Gosh if it only also had given you a head on look to make matching prints with!
#3 Spectacular! Simply stunning!
#4 Love the bad-azz look on this one coming at you How the heck do you nail the focus on these??

you rock!
Karl

Karl, thanks for your time and efforts to comment on all the shots, I do really appreciate it. As to focus, LOTS and LOTS of deleted shots. I try to get focus on them when they slow down to land on a flower. I keep my focus on them as they work their way around the flower and TRY to get the shot when they take off. If you watch long enough you can pick up some behavior that indicates they are going to fly.

Lovely images, Birdie.

I recognised your first one as yours from the thumbnail at the top of the board.

The only nit is that the second one might have looked better with the butterfly facing inwards. But that is easily forgiven.

Harold

Thanks so much Harold. I'm flattered you were able to recognize my style.
