Only a handful of members here are likely to drive this road, but those that do and have the eye for comps know this grouping of oaks along CA state route 138 entering Antelope Valley and Neenach from US 5. I've posted other images of this scene in varying weather. It's all about knowing when to pull over. I used a window clamp with ballhead, Canon 70-200 lens, and stayed in my seat.

Very nice shot. I know the area, but maybe the trees were not there when I did this

I had to look up 138, but once I did I am sure I have driven it.

I remember driving up 99 before 5 was there, and we used to get on the old Grapevine Road and drive, even then it was a drive at your own risk road.

I meant to say Ridge Route.

Beautiful Jeffrey. it's very well balance and colors look very natural and pleasant.
I really like the rendering. Micro contrast is not so high but it's full of detail.

Great photo Jeffrey! I know this location well! One of the hardest things for me to do while I'm driving to or from a photo destination is to stop for opportunities along the drive. I'm usually focused on my destination that I'll drive right by them.
