Oh, these are wonderful shots of something we don't see much of. They look cute as can be but I bet they're rather fierce, right?

They are efficient hunters of birds, squirrels and rabbits if I recall correctly

This is a dream species for me. I am so intrigued by mustelids as they often offer such unique opportunities. The last two images are amazing.

Very cute and well done. I agree the last two are very special with the last image being the best. It should definitely be printed and put on a wall.

Wonderful photos of a cute but equally efficient predator. You did yourself proud with these Mike.
Have you seen the video of a marten chasing down a snow shoe hare?....It was videoed from a moving car as it followed the marten and hare down a snowy road....pretty cool stuff!

I'll be sure to look that one up. Really neat creatures to observe as the move through the trees and over the snow very quickly.

I really enjoyed your series of Red Foxes Mike, and this is another terrific set of images of the Pine Marten.
This is not only a rarely seen animal here, but you have captured some wonderful and unique views of it.
Exposures look spot-on, colors are rich, and detail is very nice... well done.
4, 5, 7, and 8 are my favorites but all are a real pleasure to view. Excellent work.
