Fig Tree Point is located on the Upper Noosa River on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. It can only be reached by foot or boat. We walked in to camp for the night and were treated to this gorgeous sunset. The shot was taken as a rain shower approached while overlooking Lake Cootharaba.

Amazing light and colours. I am not thoroughly convinced by the composition, particularly the horizon at mid frame. Overall it is a great shot.

Thanks for the input. The composition is something I'm particularly interested in feedback on. I have quite a number of varying compositions trying to get the jetty lines doing something I was happy with. Having the lines leading outwards wasn't ideal, and I think this only started to work around this time when the nice light spread all the way across to the left.

This shot does have more space at the bottom to play with. I'll have another look.

Some nice color in this one, a good glow in the sky. I like the composition, my only thought is the dock seems to lean down on the left hand side. I would only work to correct that leaning feel in the lower left.

Sweet shot! A place one could sit for a long time with this kind of light. On my 27 Mac Thunderbolt (calibrated) I'd be tempted to turn up the saturation slightly.

Thanks for your thoughts Jim. I played with the horizon a fair bit. The curved lake shore messes with the mind a bit. I will play with some other tools to try and address what you mention about the jetty though.

Thanks Mark. Very interesting to hear your thoughts on that. I was fighting the voice inside my head (and still do when I view it) not to push the sat too far. No doubt I'll revisit this at some point.
