ok... i am not successful in locating a utility to check the shutter counts of the sony a7ii.

i have searched the web and this sony forum using keywords but no luck. thanks in advance for any helpful tips.

It doesn't work with Sony rx100ii, but other than that it's worked with any i've needed.

in my search, i uploaded an image from the a7ii to the website below and received a message stating the utility doesn't support the a7ii.

i will give another attempt using both recommended sites.

The shutter count site has been "out of order" for some time now. Is there another method for determining the shutter count on Sony A7xx-series cameras?

Thanks, but I was hoping for something more simple that would just tell me the shot count.

I found pie free (picture Information extractor) from picmeta, Is great can create a custom tab and see any none null attribute you want for any recognized camera, checked on all three a7's, canon 5dII and old aps-c digit rebel images.

It is possible to check this info without uploading pictures to any site... simply download and install the excellent Phil Harvey's exiftool, open a command window and run e.g.:

C:>exiftool DSC04228.ARW | find "Count"
Strip Byte Counts : 85120000
Image Count : 4367
Image Count 2 : 4367
Image Count 3 : 4367

For new camera models a upgrade may be required (the A7R3 is already supported since many months ago). There is also a Mac and Linux version.
