Every now and then you have a day that everything goes well, the light, the subjects and the setting. These are from one of those days and every now and then I go back and steal a few to process.

I remember seeing images from this special day from time to time, the beautiful pastel setting leaves an impression.

2 and 3 are excellent eye-level portraits of the Mergie and Canvasback... your comps teach me that I need to leave more room at the top for this POV.

1 and 4 both made me smile for your captions... #1 is my favorite of the set for your composition and caption... excellent on both counts my friend.
So glad you shared some more images from the day when all went just right... I love when that happens.

Karl, these are such a delight, they bring a smile . I must say, I just keep going back to the first one, what a great shot , the subjects, the light , all so wonderful. You must have been cold laying on that ice.

Thanks Birdie. It was a very cold but sunny day, the sun felt good on my back, I laid prone on that ice for almost 4 hrs, that took its toll on some other parts for my body

The blue is the sky, the white below is the distant ice, the blue below that is open water...........I liked the repeating pattern and colors.

I'm glad you asked, it may not work for everyone though it was just instinctive for me when I did the crop so I guess it felt right in my minds eye

This reminded me of your special place Kirk but in an opposite climate

Glad a drew a smile from you

I think when the BG is very neutral and without pattern that more at the top can work on the low perspective but honestly more of a personal choice buddy..............show as you see fit.
