Wondering what I could do differently with the image as is or maybe before i even snapped the first pic in regards to how it was composed.

The moon was setting as the sun was rising at the same time which was really awesome. I myself had never seen a sunrise and moonset at the same place at the same time. Literally I face one way and the run was rising over the clouds and then I turn backwards and the moon was setting behind the mountains.

Hi Shawn,

You captured the moon very nicely here. The best time for full moon shots like this is when it times with the sun setting or rising to help with the ambient light of the scene.

Overall I like this, but 2 suggestions or thoughts.

1. I know you can't change what the sun is lighting up, but I wish either more or less of the tree tops were being lit up. It's a bit distracting with just parts of them lit up.

2. So that leads into my 2nd thought. If you had time to move at all to get say the rolling hills of that area into the shot without any trees being lit? That would have been super cool. Or perhaps have moved up the mountain a bit more to have a grove of trees still being lit up by the sun?

Did you move more towards your right to make any shots?

Again, very nice overall to get the moon and some stars in the scene like that.

Jim

Nice capture! Agree with JimFox's observations.
