my 5dsr and 16-35/4 took a spill on this shoot and seem to be completely unresponsive. so thats that.

UPDATE ON CAMERA

Just wanted to put this down in writing as Canon USA has really come through on this one. The 16-35/4 was fixed for $500. The 5Dsr was deemed as not fixable and was replaced with a refurbished 5Dsr. FOR FREE

All because I registered my 5Dsr with canons CarePak Plus Promotion i saw running while my unit was on its way to the service center. it said something about qualifying products bought between certain dates got free Canon CarePak Plus service. mine fell out of those dates but i tried it anyway and my 5Dsr was registered. All it took was typing my Address, serial number of the body and and email address into a canon website and i got a New 5Dsr.... Those words i typed were worth $3800... Big props to Canon service.

i now have a refurb 5Dsr and they even through in all the manuals, battery and charger in the box even though i only sent em a Body.

Well Done Canon Service.

this was the special offer I used. http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/carepak-plus-offers bought mine in July but it still worked.

Oh no! That's a real bummer - Sweet shot though! I have been very fortunate to have not dropped a camera... yet! Merry Christmas and I wish you luck with your situation.

Hey Tyler,

What a really cool shot, that lightning is an awesome addition. But that is sad to hear about your camera. I know how I felt when my D700 died at the hands of the ocean a few years ago. I tell you, I have always been careful but I definitely became a lot more careful at the beach.

It certainly went out in a blaze of glory. We haven't needed Canon service on anything major, but have appreciated how easy they have been to deal with.

That's too bad about your camera, but, a great story on how a company can do well to their patrons. You must have good karma.

I like your photo. Nice timing on the lightning.
The bright area on the top left draws my eye out. I'd darken subtly/slightly.

Nice conversion on the Black and White as well.

I hope you respect my honest critique...
