Thought I'd share two of my favorite images from a very quick trip I took through Death Valley a couple of weeks back. This was my first time shooting in the dunes and I can't wait to go back. I originally went out into the dunes at about 10pm but I thought I was going to get lost out there alone in the dark so I slept in the car for a few hours and took off for a predawn hike into the eastern side of the dunes. A high pressure system made it a cloud free morning so these are all about the shadows and lines.

Photography is a learning experience for me so all C&C are very much appreciated.

Brock

Hey Brock,

Very nice shots here. There is nothing I would suggest to improve these, #2 is my favorite of the two.

I am glad to hear you were smart enough to turn back in the dark when you thought you might get lost. Sadly we hear stories of people in here making dumb and dangerous decisions in the wilderness, so it's nice to hear someone making a smart decision.

Thank you for the kind words Jim!

As you said there really have been too many people making less than smart decisions in the wilderness of late; all trying to get "that shot" without taking into consideration the dangers to themselves and the beautiful world they are trampling through. http://nymag.com/following/2015/12/why-outdoors-nerds-hate-instagram-hikers.html#
