p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · The Peaceful Rhythm of the Tides

This was one of those days I needed a peaceful place to decompress & contemplate a little.
My wife & I had just moved our oldest into a community for special needs adults. She has autism.
While we knew this time was coming (she's 33) and it's a great place, this was a day of many emotions.
After lunch my wife went to visit the grandkids & I headed up the coast to Half Moon Bay.
I had heard about this spot from Jason. It is a small cove, surrounded by steep cliffs & this craggy stack.

The marine layer teased for a while then gave me this.

Hey Dan,

That would be an emotional day, getting out to the beach is a good solution.

My issue with the composition is I prefer to shoot parallel to the beach so one doesn't get that triangle of sand. Maybe move to the left more and shoot straight on? Sun on the left, sea stack on the right?

Dan, as a father of a 24 year old severely autistic daughter, I can somewhat understand your situation. I wish you all peace and happiness moving forward. Nice image, btw. To me, it somehow conveys a bit of what you may have been going through. Happy holidays to you and your family!

My heart goes out to you. Can't imagine how difficult your path has been. Best of luck to your whole family. BTW, good shot.

Jim,
Yes it was a tough day, more so for the wife but the daughter is adjusting & so are we.
Thanks for the critique. I thought about the shore angle but the cove is very tight & I wanted to get the sun where you see it.
You make a good point though and I will be going back in the next few weeks.

Stan, Keith, Yes being a father to three daughters has been both heartache & blessing.
But it has been worth it. Iv'e been forced to change in ways I never thought possible.
Hey, I even get to post on this forum

Thanks
Dan

HI Dan,

They say that inspiration shines best in the dark, but I can only imagine what you and your family have been through.

I like the image and the spirit it conveys.
