I haven't posted much lately, so I thought I would remedy that with a few shots from recent outings. Many birds may have moved on to warmer climates, but we still have quite a few that stick around here all winter.

As always, C&C are welcome and encouraged.

Beautiful work, Kevin. Love your Ferrugious hawk on the tree. Little song birds are beautiful, especially the nuthatch hanging upside-down.

Thanks, Tam. I have seen Ferruginous Hawks in the distance before, but this is the first "close encounter". And the nuthatches are pretty amusing to watch.

The BIF of the Red Tailed Hawk is great. Were these taken here in Colorado?

Thanks, Bob. Yes, these were all taken in Boulder County.

Very nice series. The snow included in some of the frames adds to the atmosphere. These give me the feeling of photos taken under natural circumstances. I'm curious what lens you were using?

Thanks, Photo Scout. I agree about the snow being helpful, and I tend to try to get some "environment" in shots when I can. These were all taken with the Nikkor 500mm f/4G lens. I picked up a used one (still ridiculously expensive!) last winter and love it.
