Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a kiteboarder taking advantage of the heavy wind we had a couple of nights ago. I enjoy incorporating the human element into my land/seascape images whenever the opportunity presents itself. I think this one happened to work out just right.

Hey Dustin,

What a great scene, love those clouds and that reflection. The human element might be good, but that yellow kite is way too distracting for me. My eye is going straight to that bright yellow and I can't get it back to the scene at all.

Thanks Hmatsuda and Jim for the compliments. Jim, you may be right about that. I considered doing a little bit of burning on the kite, but I'm not sure it would help much and I realized that I kind of like the way it stands of out the scene so I stuck with it. I guess at this point I begin to start blurring the lines between landscape photography and sport or adventure photography, depending on how you perceive the image.

Cool shot, I love all the people on the pier. I don't find the kite distracting.
