Well well it's that time again huh?
Always a treat for me as you push your comps outside the norm and make them work. A study of the other subtle elements within the frame have their own way of creating balance for the subject placement Chris.
#1 Love the tones and the light and the frantic little panic on the duck who is about to lose its place on the log
#2 Excellent handling of a backlit situation, perfect exposure, a nice rim light and glow!
#3 Ya I like it, great feel in the golden tones and such a nice crisp look at the underwing details and patterns that it even takes your attention from the beautiful coloring on the head
#4 pleasing greens, I like the surface reflections and splashes and the whites really pop here, nice
#5 for me more BG NR or blur to separate a bit better. There is an abundance of odd dots along the mid to lower right side of the wing?
#6 refreshing colors in BG. that is a steep angle of lift off! Would also love to see this one with less foreground and more BG but same position of subject to the left.
#7 And I am still hoping of a single Kingfisher image to be proud of and you show off a Holy Grail one LOVE IT
#8 Absolutely fantastic Richness of color, comp and the friction of the water without exposed splashes is very sweet. Wow this one rocks for me
#9 wonderful light here Chris, just another superb low angle image, great capture
#10 This one is fun to look at. With all the drama in the BG the Cardinal at first catches me as almost a silhouette but then it finds itself well rendered in color and exposure. the protrusion of the log and it being in full focus works very well to balance the subject. Subtle and powerful and very well presented!
#11 So those blues are perfect and boy oh boy do the pop off that BG! Stunning color Chris and a mighty fine Bluejay image.
If I had to vote for one I would but since I don't I won't and I am glad I don't have to make that decision
Truly wonderful set.................!
