These two follow on from my first post and were taken maybe 5 minutes later when the sky lit up beautifully. Both were taken hand held, as I ran too short on time to set up the tripod. Comments and criticism welcomed!

The first is my pick Mike as it seems better balanced and it's quite a beauty.

Hey Mike,

I will have to say the opposite. #1 feels cut off, but #2 feels much better balanced since you have the whole aloe plant in the shot.

Maybe some others will help break the tie here?

Maybe not breaking any ties here, but ... I agree with Jim - image one feels cut off, and image two looks better balanced to me. However, if image two were my image, I would play around with cropping a bit off the top of that image. Cropping down maybe 1/8th of the way would probably improve the balance to my eye. All of this is subjective, of course... Thanks for posting more!

Thanks for the feedback guys! I agree that #1 feels a little cropped in. That being said it has been quite popular due to the colours. Personally I prefer the second one, and also agree that it could lose some off the top. There is just some dead space not really adding value there.

I prefer the 2nd, i might be tempted to shave a bit of sky though...
Looks like a bit heavy on Grad...
