Hi All...

Scottsdale, AZ is home to a rather large facility called Butterfly Wonderland. It features a large atrium filled with many varieties of butterflies. It's a great place to wander around with the butterflies often landing gently on your shoulder. A beautiful way to spend a morning if you ever visit this area.

Here are a few from this morning. Comments always welcome.

Nice colors and details. Do you know the various specie;s names of these ? Just curious. Most of them are unfamiliar to me.

Thanks for the comments. As to identifying them, I'm very lepidoptera-challenged. Number four I think is a Giant Owl Butterfly and number five I think is a Tiger Lacewing. Maybe someone else is more familiar with these five and can give us their identities.

All lovely - nice composition and colors. I'm lepidoptera challenged too, and I'm sorry I have no idea of the IDs! #2 is my favourite.

Very cool shots of some beautiful butts....I too like visiting places like that to see a large variety all together in one place.

Hi Bob...

I used a Canon 70D with the 24-105 L. The zoom range worked well at this location since the butterflies perched in trees and plants that were sometimes away from the designated walkways.
