The impressive shape of Sgurr Nan Gillean, one of the Cuillin's peaks, stands proud behind Allt Dearg Mor, a tributary to River Sligachan on the Isle of Skye. Using a long exposure to shape the clouds and the water and choosing Black & White perfectly conveyed the mood I was after when seeing this scene on location.

With the Pentax 645z and the 28-45mm f/4.5. Best,

Vieri

Very nicely captured!
I like the way the swirl of the clouds is a contrast
with the flow of the water...

I like the high contrast black and white conversion. The clouds and water are both well exposed. I might want to change some of the extra dark portions of the ground layer to mid-tones. But that's just my 2cents. Thank you for the share.

I like the black and white conversion, but something about the overall processing feels a bit unnatural. The water seems too bright as compared to the rest of the photo.

Thank you very much for your comment, I am glad you enjoyed it. On my monitor the contrast isn't that high, and there aren't real extra-dark zones; perhaps differences in calibration?

Thank you very much Brad for your comment. The water probably seems a bit too bright because the sky was overcast, and waterfalls might look a bit too bright in these cases (especially if you slow them down as I did); I just checked it again, and it seems to me that the clouds close to the mountain on the left of the frame are more or less as bright as the water...

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to view and comment! Best,

Vieri
