I keep telling myself that I need to spend some time documenting the incredible diversity of fungus, moss, algae, lichens and the such that thrive in the corner of the world. So the other day I went out in the "yard" and spent some time on the forest floor. One of the challenges I set for myself was to leave the settings all natural, I didn't remove intrusions of color or obstuctions in the way. That turned out harder than it sounds!

If anybody wants to ID these, please feel free

Tim

A fungus among us....what a collection of those things I'm most likely to ignore or at least not want to get prone to photograph....it's really nice really seeing the little things...I'm pretty sure this is like smelling the roses albeit without the pleasant aroma...well done on these Tim!

Risotto was the first thing that comes into my mind
Not your usual subjects, Tim, nonetheless all are masterfully taken and presented. 4 and 9 are on top of my favorites.

A great set Tim. Lot's of lovely looks. I've never seen a green 'room and it looks like one of those glass 'rooms you see at a craft show. It's my pick too. I also really like 1, but I do wonder what it would look like in a landscape orientation ~ Ron

Wow, very nice collection of fungus, Tim. It is a tough work but you did it.
I really like the way you captured these naturally.

It is like smelling the roses but in a more enjoying the beauty of nature sort of way. They are so easy to miss, while looking for them I often didn't see them until I stopped and REALLY looked. Thanks Eric!

There are tons of people that forage for mushrooms in these parts, I'm sure there is some risotto being made out of them Thanks Socrate1

Taking time to watch the grass grow, eh Tim? You're showing a real talent for macro shots and have created very compelling images of these subjects. I enjoyed every shot. 1,2,3 and 8 stood out to me, with that little green one in 8 creating such a nice contrast peeking out of the lovely brown forest floor.

Very nicely done, sir! I look forward to part two.

You are keeping me on my toes now Tim!
What a lovely set of pics of these much ignored plants. The green one stands out for me because I don't think I have seen one like it before but I enjoyed each and every one and all the different textures and colors.
