Or it could be running from it...
l went for the ominous cliffs, conspiring with the storm clouds, against the diminutive catamaran

This was taken on a sunset cruise off the Napili Coast of Kauai
I resisted the urge to bring a tripod, which would have been more of a handicap with the rough seas & movement. Instead I practiced timing & patience.
Just played with the ISO a bit & bracketed.
Taken with the Sony A7R, ISO 200, f16, 1/250.
This is a 3-shot blend for DR.

Nice work on a tough shot. The cliffs have little detail, nearly black on my monitor

Happy Veterans Day Dan! I like this because there are 2 interpretations to this image. I like the silhoutte of the hills contrasting the bright water reflections and the fog or water spray "hiding" amongst the layered rocks.
Or you could bring out more detail in the rocks...your choice..But I like the dramatics of this one!
A Salute to you and Welcome Home my brother!

Dan2,
Thanks brutha! Hope things are well with you.
I did blend from bracketed, but I'll take a look at lifting the shadows a bit more.

Thanks

I like the sole boat in a grand seascape motif. I like how distinct the boat is despite its small size. I might have cropped a bit of the near sea and retained more of the blacks of the cliffs. As it is, they have a sort of hazy feel which I feel blends too much with the sky. The water seems slightly bowed at the horizon so I might try to correct that, too.

Brev00, Dan2,

Well I guess I'm caught in the middle, one of you wants the rocks darker, the other lighter
I thought about leaving them mostly in silhouette, but I liked the misty look that separates them.

Thanks for the comment

Hi Dan,

I like the comp and the way you've captured the bright light in the clouds and on the water. I'd go with slightly darker rocks, especially on the far left. This might look good in b&w.
