This is located in the Poipu area, Kauai. Not as impressive as a Thor's well event, but certainly occurs more often as the surf comes in.

A
lava tube directs the surf and you can get water spouts 20-30ft high.

Taken with a Mamiya 7, exposed on Ektar.
This was one of those times I could have shot the whole roll trying to get the best "spout" but kept it to 4 attempts.
I picked this one as the water as the appearance of a flame & it reflects light down on the rocks.

That is pretty cool. I like how it's spouting out, and you captured it nicely on film.

Yes Jim, taking shots on film like this makes me be quick to setup but wait for the right moment. Something I'll hopefully take with me when I shoot w/digital.
