Hi,

Just wanted to share some photos from my new backyard set up, that I've been working on it for a few weeks. My 2 crazy beagles, lots of shade, and a mixed bag of backgrounds have limited the positioning of the feeders. The perches I've set up are just plain old branches but I'll be getting creative with those as time goes on and as soon as the leaves drop the light will be better. Under the circumstances I think I've made some progress.

I have a small hunting blind set up about 15-ish feed from the feeders and I've set up perches to try and get the most amount of birds hopping on before eating. There's been a lot of trial and error and a lot more to come.

5 is a beauty Justin with excellent exposure, a super background and fine feather detail

Sweet! Love the BG's

Possibly on #4 and 5 the white balance is off, looking a little blue/magenta to me. You have nice light in these to work with and have some great poses of some favorite BY birds, well done!

Thanks Karl, I really appreciate your comments. When I used to shoot hockey, I paid a lot more attention to the white balance, but I’ve kind of taken it for granted when shooting birds. I pretty much stick to the same 5 or 6 steps when I edit so I assume they’ll all look the same. But we all know what they say about assuming
