Disappointing went in to pick up my A7II as I transition into mirrorless - figured I'd make sure my Rovelight HSS works. Sadly it does not - the Flashpoint Rovelight trigger (dedicated for the RL and HSS) will trip the flash fine from the Sony hotshoe (only 1 pin on the trigger) but it will not sync beyond 1/250 at any of the flash settings in the A7II menu. Tried it with the Yongnuo yn622cn's same thing (with the Canon I used the Yongnuos to fire other lights at the same time). The A7II doesn't have a sync port so I can 'trick' the strobe, and a (well 2 different) sync port adapter in the hotshoe failed to work at all. Any sony owners with any thoughts? I've already unloaded some of my canon glass and I was really pumped to use some of my late father's minolta legacy stuff in conjunction with my lighting.

This was my an option. Fill flash, slow, 2nd curtain, wireless were the available ones that i remember at least definitely no HSS. Unless it was in another menu?

Does anyone know if the Photix Odin trigger and receiver set may cure my ills? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1011935-REG/phottix_ph89048_odin_ttl_flash_trigger.html

As it happens that I'm looking to get one of these strobes . Try the Odin TX/RX for Sony. This guy got his to work flawlessly:

Either that, or wait for Nission to release their Air receiver. The Air commander + flash is already out.

So is the Odin currently the only trigger capable of achieving HSS with the Rovelights? Have there been any updates about the Odin II release?

Actually, they phased out the Odin so it's hard to find one for Sony. Pixel King is the only one in town right now and cheaper:

Personally, I'm waiting for the Odin II (currently being tested in Asia) or the Nissin Air receiver.

Interesting. And the Pixel King will work with HSS on the A6000/Rovelight? I also have been trying to wait for the Odin II but it's starting to feel like waiting for the infamous A7000

The Odin works fine with the Rovelight and HSS. I don''t believe the Odin has been phased out. They announced they were working on an Odin II but that has never materialized.

Haven't seen any mention with the A6000. But it works with the A7 series:

Odin is not phased out, true hard to find but it is available at some locations......

The II as stated herePhottix Odin is a very small company. I remember the same happen with the Mitros + for Sony, took about 5 months to receive in stock. I sent them a couple of emails and that to took 5 weeks for a response..

Do you know if the following is all I need to use HSS with an A7,A7II,A6000:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pixel-King-TTL-flash-triggers-for-Sony-/262149584454?hash=item3d09553646:g:hPQAAOSwDFNWFHlD

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/913654-REG/sony_adpmaa_multi_interface_shoe_adapter.html

The adapter would just be used to connect the Pixel King trigger to the A7 hotshoe while the other Pixel King receiver would be plugged into my strobe via sync cable? Is this correct? Thanks

The adapter is the correct adapter that you will need.

I cannot really tell on the triggers though! I need a close up view. I had a set of PK for Sony similar to these and they will provide HSS with the Rovelight, Streaklight, and would also manual control my Einsteins! I am thinking they are the same as mine came from China and took about 4 weeks to get here. I sold them in favor of the Odin...

Yes, and the receiver will be connected to the RL via an 3.5 male to male cable..

Thank you. I will be using them with the Rovelight and possibly Einstein in the future. I looked for the Sony Odin set but could not find it in stock anywhere. It also seems significantly more expensive than the Pixel Kings. Does the Odin have any major advantages?
