p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Across the Bridge - Milky Way

I am interested to see how this image goes over on the group since I have my car in the frame =)

This was a fun photo I shot to wrap up a night of Milky Way photography at Glacier National Park with my friend this May. The bridge had a perfect amount of water to reflect part of the Milky Way and green airglow can be seen in the sky. I kept my car in the image for a sense of scale and to joke with my local Subaru car club friends back in Pittsburgh. Please feel free to follow on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mattdieterichphotography and IG @MattDieterichPhotography

Comments and critique. I attempted to keep the Milky Way colors as natural as possible. This night there was severe green airglow in the sky, which made color balancing difficult, but I am happy with the end product.

Cheers,

Matt

I think that is a cool shot and wonderful observation regarding the thin water layer. You even have stars on the windshield. You handled the air glow well. As far as a "landscape" goes, I don't care overall for the composition and car, but I don't think that was your intention in the first place.

Neat, thanks for sharing!

Hi David,

Thank you for commenting. I was very pleased with the how the reflections came out. I agree that the composition is 'ho-hum". Fun shot for sure to take =)
