IMO, the best SINGLE Canon lens for using handheld shots of wildlife at varying distances.

All shots taken handheld during a couple of short walks on an overcast day today.

Great shots, you have a very steady hand, I think. Some of those shutter speeds would leave my shots with a quivering mess. Great work! Love the Towhee pic.

Those are splendid shots at any shutter speed, leave alone the low values you are using. Can you share your hand holding technique?
