or Red Sand to the rest of us. This is a mountain looking out onto the very gorgeous red sand beach of Raušisandur in the West Fjords of Iceland. pretty harsh lighting but bw looked ok.

thanks!

I like this shot a lot, the B&W works. Personally though I would crop the top clouds to eliminate the grey areas and only show the clouds which would frame the photo and draw your eye to look down into the scene instead of the somewhat dead space above. Just my opinion, good job. When were you there?

I disagree about the crop. I feel like detail in the clouds draw your eye from the bottom to the top of the photograph. This is my favorite of your Iceland shots yet. Great study of the Zone System. Really well done, and I think the 8x10 crop is so great.

So much better than a 4x5 crop.

powerful scene
nice conversion
I won't get into the 4:5 vs 8:10 crop. Just a lot of crop.
I like it as is but would go for a bit off the top just leaving a bit of clpoudless sky on each side. But it's a small issue. Print and enjoy!

Hey Chris,

Me and a Friend were in Iceland from September 6th through the 16th. we put a lot of miles on the rental car (1900miles) and hit up a ton of F roads and highland stuff. it was a blast. As far as your crop suggestion is concerned, your crop has merit and it does look good. but, i am happy with the image as is and will definently take the crop into consideration for another image from this area that was shot a bit wider with more of the rocky area that isn't visible in this shot.

i appreciate your comments! thank you

Cheers

Tyler
