I took hundreds of images in the Narrows, and 'narrowing' it down (excuse the pun) is a real challenge

Absolutely fantastic hike, totally lost myself (not literally) in the canyon for almost 9 hours.

Like them all, but the 3rd one is hanging on my wall (well almost, I have a near identical one from last year). This is a magical place.

Another great set! The third is my favorite - it seems the most balanced and I like the warmth coming through the slot. All of these are really nice with some great color.

Yeah, the Narrows is a very cool place. You have some nice shots here, I like them in the order you presented them, with #1 my favorite and #4 my least favorite.

Nice set of images that give a good feel of the place. Nicely processed. I like the 2nd one because it has a shorter shutter speed and the real cottony water in the others is not my fav part of otherwise fine images.

Some of the finest shots I have seen from this location. Very well done.

Are these focus stacked or blended in any way? No Exif data attached. Just wondering how you shot them and post-processed.

No focus stacking or blending, no. They were shot using the Nikon D810 which has the capacity to capture an extremely broad dynamic range in one frame. A polariser was used in the canyon to control glare and reflections. Processing was done in Photoshop to achieve the desired end result, largely using masked adjustment layers to control the tones as required.

All very good. Most appealing to me are #1 and #4. Especially the 4th shows the depth of the canyon.

I took lots of shots when I was in the Wall Street portion of the narrows. My normal inclination is to shoot landscape mode and I have to tell myself to take a few verticals.

In this case I am glad I did because even at 35mm, the landscape versions make the scene appear much wider than it is and longer FL fails to convey the height of the walls. The verticals retain the the narrowness of the canyon and at the same time the height of the walls.
