Fall color in the Cascades is more furtive and localized than in other areas. The shorelines of high lakes like Clear Lake, the source of the McKenzie River, offer more expansive glimpses of the brilliant colors that are usually shrouded under the evergreen canopy. These panoramas were shot with the EF 100mm 2.8 Macro in portrait orientation. Feedback always welcome.
Heron, I really like the richer colors of the 2nd but the comp of the 1st. IMO, having the orange bushes and shoreline in the top third better emphasizes the idea of "fall reflections".
