Whoever named Cappadocia's Love Valley definitely knew what he was doing - walking among the huge hoodoos that dot the Valley's floor, one can easily see where the name comes from. Nevertheless, these majestic rock formations are a sight to behold, and make for great compositions sculpted by the directional sunset light.

Shot in 2014 in Cappadocia with the Sigma SD1 Merrill (now long gone). Enjoy!

Good to see some fantastic structures from other parts of the world. Well done.

The hue on the yellow color is a bit much.

What interesting structures. I agree with Rohan, it feels like it has too much of a yellow cast to it. Also I would suggestion adding more contrast, the shadows seem too light in this.

Hello Rohan & Jim,

thank you for your reply. The stones are actually yellowish in colour, and the near-sunset light accented that - you can see the sky is still blue. I appreciate that you can feel it to be a little much though.

About the contrast, the light was very soft, near sunset and filtered by the clouds, didn't cast deep shadows and I liked it that way. Again, of course I appreciate it that you might feel differently about it, thank you for your suggestions on both matters

Best,

Vieri
