Locked in the blind?
Is that typical when shooting the Cranes in Nebraska?

I'll answer this one - yes, if you are on one of the private trust or sanctuary lands and pay to overnight in a photo blind, you must stay inside the blind from about dusk onward until the morning. It's critical for the cranes to not become frightened off the river and they are very skittish in Nebraska. They are hunted in other states but not in Neb. So it's out of concern for the birds. They need to reserve their strength for the long flight north, and remain on the river for safety as well.

Hope that helps! It's fun, anyway!
